The Capitol Ride - Sunday, January 15, 2012

Every year Moffitt Cancer Center patients, volunteers and employees visit the state legislators to talk with them about the fight to cure cancer and the need for continued funding from the state. Since the Cure on Wheels was founded to raise money and awareness for continued research, we thought it would be a natural fit to ride from Tampa to Tallahassee. Each year patients, volunteers and employees have come together to make this ride to help in this awareness effort. We always leave several days ahead and arrive at the capitol building to a group of supporters and a celebration. We ask the riders to raise money to offset the costs of support (the support vehicles and truck, hotel rooms, etc). This year we are asking each rider raise $350. Remaining used money will be donated to the charities we support (Moffitt Cancer Center and All Children’s Hospital).
